Academics

The academic ethos at The Rose Orchid World School focuses on encouraging students to identify their talents and develop their intellectual interests so that they remain interested to learn for the rest of their adult lives. The school's academic environment is constructed in a manner that all students not only master basic Reading, Writing & Arithmetic skill, they turn out to be independent critical thinkers and use their creativity to seek solutions to everyday life. Collaboration as a value and skill is encouraged in day-to-day learning at school. In line with the vision of the school, to empower families, society and nation at large, the academics at school focuses on development of moral, intellectual, emotional & spiritual aspects of a child's being.

Curriculum

The school is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi and prepares students for Senior Secondary Classes in Streams Non-Medical, Medical and Commerce. As per guidelines of National Curriculum Framework (NCF), the school exposes the students to experiential learning, various activities, music, art & craft, sports, dance & drama, field trips, laboratory work & library resources to provide opportunities for wholesome development of children in its care.

Evaluation & Progress System

An Academic Session is divided into two terms; First Term (From April to September) followed by Half Yearly Examination & Second Term (From October to March) followed by Annual Examination.
The progress of all the students shall be continuously reviewed during the teaching learning process through age & class appropriate assignments, projects, orals, presentations and curricular activities.
There shall be no formal exams up to class II. For Classes Nursery to II, the Progress Report shall be prepared on the basis of continuous observations & evaluations over the year.
For Classes III toV the Progress Report shall be prepared on the basis of weightage given to Assessments and Tests conducted regularly over the year and Term Tests.
For Classes VI onwards the Progress report shall be prepared on the basis of weightage given to regular Class Tests, Lesson Ending Unit Tests, Work Completion &Deposition on time, Participation & Performance in subject enrichment activities & Projects along with Half Yearly & Annual Examinations.

Rules

Students absent from any evaluation/examination for any reason will not be re-evaluated/ re-examined.
No leave shall be granted during any evaluation/examination.
Absence from one or more subjects shall lead to the loss of marks/grades for those subjects only. Absence from the whole examination leads to the total loss of marks/ grades.
The Principal reserves the right to detain or deny promotion to a student whose performance continues to remain unsatisfactory.
A student failing to be promoted shall thereby forfeit any concession in fee, for the next session.
Students must get their Progress Reports signed by their parents/guardians within three days of the receipt of the Progress reports.
In case of loss or disfiguring of the Progress Report, the new copy shall be issued at the cost of Rs. 200/-.
